Mette Juul

The Danish jazz singer and song writer, Mette Juul, has impressed audiences and media globally with her concerts and releases since her debut in 2010. After her studies at the Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium in Copenhagen, she won the International Jazz Artist Competition in Tallinn. She has found a unique style and writes personal songs that live between jazz and the singer-songwriter-tradition.

Juul is critically acclaimed for her earlier releases, There is a Song (2015) and Moon on my Shoulder (2012) with Blue Note trumpetist Ambrose Akinmusire, along with her debut album, Coming in from the Dark (2010) with Palle Mikkelborg and Alex Riel, among others.

Her album, Change (2019), and its follow-up, New York – Copenhagen (2020), were extremely well-received internationally. Jull shows new sides of herself on these albums, through intimate solo, duo, and trio formats. Change was recorded in part at Juul’s own home as well as in New York and Sweden. This, among others, is the music we can look forward to hearing in October!
