Joyce Moreno
Top quality Brazilian music
Joyce Silveira Moreno. Or just "Joyce". Now 77 years old and a queen of expansive Brazilian music - somewhere between jazz, Brazilian pop music ("MPB") and bossa nova. Interpreted by everything from Elis Regina and Gal Costa, to Milton Nascimento and Sergio Mendes. Recorded by Annie Lennox, Gerry Mulligan, Black Eyed Peas, Tortoise, Flora Purim and European acid jazz, as well as remixed by many, including Fatboy Slim.
Singer, composer, arranger, instrumentalist and four-time Latin Grammy nominee - Joyce's portfolio includes over 400 recorded songs on a variety of records, Hollywood soundtracks, in Japanese anime, on television and for theatre. This is the third time we have had the pleasure of hearing her in Tromsø.
